Broken out of the box
I received this Daisy Model 880 broken. The safety doesn't work and the BB magazine loading door is missing. Otherwise, the gun shoots straight -- good precision and accuracy. It feels more substatial than the chintzy Grizzly model we tried first. Hopefully, Daisy will make good on this when I contact them tomorrow. If they do, I'd rate it a "4" or higher.

Underneath it all, still a classic
I grew up with the 880 and it was a marvelous first rifle. Now I am purchasing one for my oldest son. It's changed a bit - some components that I swear were metal in the 1970's are plastic now, the sights are different, but underneath it all, it seems like the same 880 I remember. I hope that, in a few decades, my sons will be getting 880's for their boys. Its become a multigenerational classic.

A Classic!
This is the same air rifle my father bought me as a young man. Now I purchased it for my son. I was very pleased to see the same quality is still there. Daisy has not lowered their standards at all! I was also very pleased with Simply BB Guns prices and very fast delivery.

Daisy 880
I purchased this model, because I had one during the 80's. Unfortunately, I have a permanent scar to my upper thigh, after being sniped by my brother and his buddy. Requiring surgery to remove a 2 inch deep pellet. NOT A TOY! Still as powerful as ever. This bb/pellet gun will serve my needs perfectly; which is putting an end to nuisance crows & teaching my children rifle safety "under close supervision". Look no further, the 880 is a tight gun, and Simply BB guns' prices cannot be beat. Funderburke
